As part of our Christmas celebrations, the children all got to enjoy watching the panto ‘The Clockmaker’s Christmas’. Some of the children were lucky enough to even be part of the performance and had lots of fun helping the actors out.
As part of our Harry Potter topic, Year 5 took part in a Potions lesson. Year 5 and 6 helped to spread Christmas cheer by carol singing at two of the residential homes in the area. The children really enjoyed singing for, and then chatting with, the residents. Monday afternoon was the Years 5 and 6’s Christmas party. The children had a great time playing corners, pass the parcel, musical statues and musical bumps.
Yesterday we set the children the task of completing a number of challenges finding out about how other countries celebrate Christmas and their traditions. They worked in groups using their B.L.P skills to complete the tasks then presented their findings to the rest of the class.
Last week we had a visit from Miss.Stanley the recycling officer from Oldham Council. She talked about why and how we should recycle. Today Years 3, 4 and 5 performed their Christmas songs before the Infant Nativity. The children all did fabulously and definitely got the afternoon off to a great start.
In November, Year 4 vistited Manchester Museum to see the Ancient Egypt exhibition.
