Yesterday at Beal Vale, we were all celebrating today’s Royal Wedding. In Year 5, the children worked in groups to complete a number of Royal wedding activities including designing a dress for Meghan, researching and writing a non-chronological report, creating a Royal Family family tree and a variety of problem solving tasks. As well as this, each group had to choose a model and then they had to create a wedding dress on their model using toilet roll and sellotape. The children had a great time making their dresses and had some imaginative ideas, including finding stones and foliage to add details. The models then strutted their stuff down the catwalk in front of our judges and they came up with some fabulous ways to get the judges’ votes. In the afternoon, Year 5 joined with Year 6 and it was all about the cake! Each child got chance to decorate their own cupcake and enjoyed a slice of the special cake made by our kitchen staff.
We all had a brilliant day, even tidying up the mess we made in the playground turned into fun. Take a look at the pictures from our day.
