Year 4 Book Week 2020

Posted by on October 1, 2020

Year 4 have been looking at the book ‘The Red Tree’ by Shaun Tan. We have looked at the symbolism and language used in the book and focused on the message that even when things look bleak there is always hope.

The children have created a ‘Tree of Hope’

The class learnt about metaphors and then tried to use these in creating poems about hope.

In Art, Year 4 looked at the Surrealist style of the illustrations and explored the work of surrealist artists like Dali and Magritte. They then created their own surrealist works of art.
